Our New Logo |

Our new logo represents the Holy Trinity to which our church is dedicated.
The Trinity is central to Christianity and it comprises God the
Father,
God the Son (Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit united in one.
All three are shown in Christian art and imagery – a dove or clouds for
the Spirit and bearded figures usually for Father and Son. These
are of course just representations though for many they aid devotion
and prayer.
Isiah prophesied of Jesus the Messiah “..he
hath no form nor comeliness; and
when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.”
I
find this strangely pleasing being ready to believe that his magnetism
depended on other things.
But a logo must in any case be simple. Islam and certain sections of Christianity have regarded images of the divine as something to be avoided because they can become idols – things worshiped in themselves. Our logo seems to follow this cautionary approach when we use geometric shapes – three circles interlinked in a fourth. I can find no instance of this design being used elsewhere.
